Mazowe dam resort is approximately 40 kilometers away from Harare, which makes it a good destination for a roadtrip because it is close to the city. The road to Mazowe is interesting as you drive into some curves and bends, rises and dips. The scenery by the roadside is also a good watch. You’ll drive past farms, hills and mountains, and places covered in indigenous trees which make spectacular forestry.
Beautiful mountainous hills and abundant wildlife (monkeys, baboons, geckos, birds, etc.) make this drive VERY scenic - and very close to Harare. The dam was built in 1920 and is quite a sight to behold. It's great place to stop and enjoy the beauty of Zimbabwe.
